I picked up an abandoned tank (about 75cm x 30cm x 45cm)

i guess it is an old model, as it only supports one fluorescent tube - it wouldn't provide enough light for a planted tank right? can it be modified somehow?

Do you know what's the model? Basically, you can use 3rd party lights instead of the lights by Juwel and you are good to go.

usually i dun use the Juwel lights. either they are not strong enough or it's in the cover and the tank gets too hot....

you need to pm sunnydaze as he is good with Juwel tanks. he may be able to help you

thanks for all your advise...
can't find the model number on the tank - but the sticker is till showing 7-digit singapore phone number - so i guess it would be at least 5 years old

the aquarium cover is nice, and the light is working...but it doesn't look like i can modify it to put in more powerful lights

the other way would be to remove the cover and replace it with brighter aquarium lights
