Guys, kindly advise on cure for popping eyes and bloated stomach.

Hi! Guys,

Found one Cichlid lying on gravel bed with bloated stomach and both eyes popping out. The rest of Cichlid ok.

Any advise how to cure? Already put it one corner and added salt. Suspected swallow some small stone so can't output as others all look ok.

I was recommend to use PIMAFIX for internal and external infection. Anyone manage to cure this before? Haiz...Normally can't save.

Hi Joe,
Normally the cause is a pathogen/combination that attacked the liver and kidney like bacteria/parasites/virus or just bad diet/water quality. Got pictures?

This is called Malawi Bloat. I bought PIMAFIX as recommended as this will treat not only external, but internal as well.

Anyway, it die the second day after treatment. Now left a bottle of PIMAFIX, only use 2 doses. May be will put on sale then. I bought S$14/=.

One of my cichlids had the same problem a few days back. Melafix + Pimafix cured it in just 2 days.

it time to do a water change in your tank, else all or few of them will get the same popping eyes. Water condition is not good too many gas in the water.

I have changed the water. It looks ok now. May be I over feed the fishes. I already make sure they finished in 20-30 seconds but some can eat really fast till all mouth full. I feed them with Hikari pellets.

May be I should fast then one day in a week. Do you guys practice that? But worry hungry cichlid can be too aggresive, ended up weak one kena bully.
