NUTRIENT DEFICIENCY ON JAVA MOSS

Hi....
My moss has been growing in my driftwood 4 abt a mth or so.... but i notice some of the moss has started turning pale to yellowish colour.....Now all the moss look so unhelthy[]
Btw, i only use liquid fert.

I would doubt it's nutrient deficiency. Java moss can thrive in a shallow plastic container of cool tap water for months. Did any new growth appear since the moss was tied to the wood? What is your tank temp, lighting, pH, CO2 injection, nitrate, fishes, snails, shrimps etc...?

There is new growth.....
I have not test my water yet....
Temp is 26/27
Co2 is manual regulator, 1 bubble per sec.
Lighting is 76w.
It is 2ft tank...

What liq fert are you using?

Let us know more. Otherwise quite difficult to advice.

I've got 4 otos, 2 chinese algale eater, 10 rasboras, 30 malayan n many snails. I'm using Tetra AquaPlant(FloraPride).

Rummynose, check your thermometer. If you are not using some sort of cooling system, chances are your temperature is not what you think it is. Thermometers sold in fish shops can easily be off by a few degrees. I suspect that your temperature is actually around 28 to 29 degrees which may be too high for the moss.

As Budak said, the Java Moss can live in trays for months. I raise many killifish in small trays with Java Moss and I keep the trays under a bench where it's dark but cool. I never add fertiliser to the trays and yet the moss can survive for months on end. Budak has been to my house so he can tell you that I'm not pulling your leg. I also take my cue from growing terrestrial ferns and mosses (non-flowering vascular plants), which gardeners know well to be prone to fertiliser burn. These plants thrive better given less fertilisation rather than more.

What's your liquid fert dosage, as per its instructions?

76W for a 2-ft is very high light.

KL has a good reason to believe that the temperature may be higher than what you are measuring if you do not have any cooling.

Another possibility that I can think of is that your high lighting is driving your plant growth so much that it is depleting the nutrients.

Possible nutrient deficiency is K, and possibly NO3.
