I do. Daylight tubes. Got bubbling. I DIY 4x18W FL for my 2ft.----------------

I'm using 6x36W FL (Hitachi EBT Tubes) in my 80G tank... I also get bubbling.

currently have a 36w PL lights but planning to have riccia for my front of the tank ... can i jus buy the normal casing of 2x15w FL tube... and get a 30w and fit it in ?

30W FL are all 3 ft in length. Suggest you get those PL holders allowing 2x36W if you want to grow hi light plants. Check at Nature Aquarium.
no 30w wad about 18w ? can i fit inside the casing ???
check already ... 2x36w e-ballast at $100 2x36 with e-ballast is at $70 ... FL tube + casing $40 ... and jus kinda extra saw an aquaflux light with 3x55w 2ft light with a reflector selling for $120 ... but still think FL is more worth it and the plants under the FL lights in NATURE are growing very very nice !
Don't reall understand your post, but I try to explain what I think you're asking.
30W = 3ft FL tube
18W = 2ft FL tube
There is no way the 3ft tube is able to fit into a 3ft lighting hood.
FL is better is you don't have space constraint. If you decide to use FL, by all means go ahead. I've used PL and it's more suitable cos I can pack more watts with less tubes for my 3.5ft tank.
