Is it the one that we bought to feed fish? I have them in my tank last time too. They grow really huge and the lfs shopkeeper told me they will attack your small fishes and feed on them.
Hi, I "rescued" a giant ghost shrimp and it is now with my sakuras. It is HUGE - 20 times bigger than my juvenile sakuras. Will this giant be a peaceful tankmate?
It's been about 2 hours now in the same tank and I see it being quiet on its own doing its own thing, but I don't know what will happen when it is dark at night.....![]()

Yup, this sole survivor was spared, maybe because it is a "giant". Too poor thing to let it remain it in my friend's fish tank, it's been hiding under the rock. Wonder if it will be ok for it to live with my other shrimps, all smaller in size. And eventually will transfer oto fish from my other tank to this same tank too.
Please do not put it with shrimps or small fishes. if u notice, they have small pincers that they use to catch their prey.

I once had one mixed up in a bag of Yamatos which I released into my tank. Never notice it feeding on other fish, but it does bully other fauna a lot with its sheer size and pincers. It would dash about in the tank once in a while and "crash" away smaller fishes that are in its way. Or try to snap at fishes that gets too close to it with its pincers. However, I noticed that it does not disturb my otos and plecos. I have removed it from my tank, as I prefer a more peaceful environment in my tank.
Ok noted. Been watching it since yesterday. Though most of the time it doesn't disturb the rest when it is hiding under the coconut java moss, but when the giant comes out, the rest jumps away. It does steal food though. Aiya... where to house it then? cannot be back to cichlid tank leh....
