These guys are once again available at C328. Very nice red noses.

They are not schooling fishes! In fact, they are quite territorial. There will be a bit more red on the body when they settle down.

I bought 3 pieces and they always stick together and seem to school with the Nannostomus marginatus. They are very cute with their reflective red noses under the aquarium lights and similar to their beckfordi and marginatus cousins, they do chase each other around and do the body rubbing territorial behavior occasionally.

Hey, I always get lemon for fish. Mine are flaring, chasing and most of the time they are in their own corner. The only time they stick around each other is when I put my hands/nets. Ok, maybe I need a nice Apisto to trigger their schooling instincts?

Yes, i suggest a non apisto but still a dwarf cichlid. Ivanacara adoketa. Their schooling habit is probably because they are still new in the tank. I believe once they settle down, the will become the "lemons" you mentioned.

Nope, they are usually hiding in some corners after lights off and my flash can't reach them. CK, they are already body whacking the marginatus!

They look like this when just in tank or when defensive: schooling

Once they settle down: flaring. The body will whip side-to-side (apisto-style).
