Was at Seaview this afternoon. They have archer fishes in two tanks. In the room off to the side. Smaller than what I have seen elsewhere. Two sizes. Price on both tanks indicated $1.80. Didn't ask if the water is brackish or fresh.
I have a 3 feet brackish tank with a specific gravity of 1.003. Residents are one blue crayfish, two green spotted puffer, two F8 and some feeder mollies.
Thinking of adding one or two archer fish to the tank. Any idea where to get them? Is a Siamese tigerfish suitable tankmate for them? and lastly how is the tank setup like for the archers?

It is off Jalan Kayu. Check out the LFS Directory at the top of any page.
Thanks you guys just gave me a great idea, i just have to call the LFS located on the west zone of the list to check if they carry archers that will save me a lot of time.![]()
Just FYI, Datnoids get too big for your tank.
Currently keeping many wild betta species and other anabantoids.
Went to Seaview earlier. The archer fish all in one tank now, they didn't look very happy / healthy. All darkish and very jumpy too. Went to Pasir Ris farmway but none of the shops carried.
Does anyone know where else sells? I thinking of driving down to Clementi or Qian Hu to buy over the weekend now.
You can try tiong bahru market, east ocean quatic trading centre. Got my archers there.
Went to East ocean quatic trading centre and bought 4 at $3 each. Fish are in good shape.
Also went back to Seaview this morning. Looks like they have new batches of archer fishes out on display. The larger ones are almost the same size as those at East Ocean. Bought 6 at $1.80 each.
Wow, that is almost half the price. But seaview is a bit far for me.
Btw did you see any monos at East ocean quatic trading centre? If so round how big?
The archer fish are a good idea, i dont know how they will fare with the pufers tho, also note if you lower your water level about 1/4 and put a branch there you can feed the fish crickets, its a good show watching them spit water to shoot them down.
De-Roc
I have freshly set up 4 ft tank external filter and a sponge filter in tank - only archer fish inside. I think I should have given tank more time to settle + overfed fish with a $1 packet of prawn cos next day some dev fin rot![]()
Worse - went and applied sera fin rot med and fish all struggling to breathe at the surface.
Cleared out 1/2 tank.. fish appeared more at ease now.
What abt you? What's your tank like?
I have a 3 feet brackish tank. Keeping Monos and Scats a few puffers. Currently one of my red scat is also having fin rot, thinking of buying medfix for it but the medication needs to be applied for 3 days straight. Which is difficult for me as I am currently serving NS.
Btw same some archers at clementi, polyart selling at $2.50
Thanks all,i have been trying to find archer fishes. For the past few months, i got everything ready for archer fishes but i cant find any. I have added Monos, and other old freshwater fishes from previous tank, like spotted gar, pacu, pangsius. Hope to get a few more archers soon. ):
You're looking for archerfish ? I saw them at Aquastar just now.
