The thought crossed my mind several times. i wonder how they taste?

I mean my shrimps are multiplying (snowball etc), I know the water is clean and their diet is healthy (micro-organisms on moss).

So they should taste fresh! Without the typical 'mud' taste of freshwater seafood. Anyone?

I am thinking more of sashimi, the natural fresh flavor.

Eh $5 per snowball? I remember mine was like $15 per 10.

But one of my daydreams is to open an uber-exclusive Japanese restaurant and one of the specialties is serving 'crystal red sushi"! – heaps of freshly 'harvested' CRS laid on top of perfectly molded japanese rice.

I will cry if I eat my own fish! But if I don't "know" them its ok.

My mom and her family kept chickens once and when their fave was killed for food, they swore off chicken forever. Its been over 50 years and the whole family is chicken free!

I guess you'll have to practise with ghost shrimp. Here's a guide on how to do it. Its a culture thing. Either you have to be a local or brave or drunk.

I've read that down in australia they eat the pearl arowana (close cousin of the asian arowana) they call it the 'baramundi'. From what I remember, arowana meat has very little taste - and has tons of little bones which make it annoying to eat! LOL.
