should last quite long as the pressurization/depressurization cycles are low. to be safe, send your cylinder for hydrostatic testing. once testing to be good, the cylinder will be stamped to show test date.

Are the tanks from NA undergone hydrostatic test? Any idea?
The NA one is life time warranty, at least that what the owner told me
Hydrostatic Test - where can we send to? Estimate cost is how much? Thks
NA - Too bad, the cylinder is not from them. I get it from one of the lfs.
Just worry that it might give way. But so far every time i send for top up, they didn't mention that my cylinder has problem.
Thanks for all your information.
even if it is not from NA as long as the same type should have the same warranty. I mean Na does not make their own CO2 tank right
Yes you are right. I believe the warranty is there as the cylinder should follow certain standard in order to house the pressurised gas. Thanks Shadow
I think if the hydrostatic test is almost the price of a new cylinder, I will go for a new one which will be more economical.
wow really that expensive huh.
for hydrostatic testing, check with industrial gas suppliers in the yellow pages.
from what i know, they will not test certain types of cylinders.
cylinders that have been hydrostatic tested usually have date stamped on the neck of the cylinder.

Im using the NA black and silver italy co2 tank models. Life time warrenty, besides i get to choose 1-1 exchange if my tank starts developing rust.
Generally if your tank is unsafe, whomever you take it to to refill it will probably reject it. If it were to rupture or "explode" it is most likely that it will take place when it is being refilled.
I'm sure there are places which are really lax about the condition of the tanks that they refill, but most if not all of them should at least check the date for next hydrostatic testing before refilling a tank along with a visual inspection for any serious corrosion etc.
It is probably not worth getting a CO2 tank hydrostatic tested unless it is a large tank 5L and up. I have never done this is Singapore, but I have had tanks hydrostatic tested when I was in the USA. It cost about USD$30 per tank to be tested.
It was required (in Missouri) to have your tank tested every 3 - 5 years depending on the size, before they would even perform a refill.
Thanks for all the information brothers! At least I know what is going on now for all these cylinder.
Anyway, mine is a 2.2kg cylinder.
Thanks again.![]()
