bubble counter provides a visual indication that co2 is flowing. bubble rate means nothing. you'll need to use the ph/kh relationship to find the actual co2 concentration.
i am using one from bioplast. nothing special except it does not leak.
I noticed there are various types of bubble counter in the market and each may give different size of bubbles and thus different amount of CO2. Just a thought....
Previously, I am using the JBJ bubbles counter as below.
Some example ...
Now, I am using my old Adec's bubble counter and it seem to produce a sound for every bubbles output.
I am sure everyone came across many bubble counters. So, wondering which bubble counters you have used before and would like to recommend? Thanks.

I am using the one in your first picture (the one you referred to as the JBJ one).
Liked it because:
1) it acts as a check valve
2) the water in it doesn't dry up as quickly
3) no need to worry about how to place / hang the bubble counter.

Im using the one from ANS, similiar in design to the UPZ you've attached in the bottom right. LIke Teck mentioned, it acts as checkvalve, water doesnt dry up quickly since its not heated like the JBJ 's version, however to ensure back pressure flow, i've installed 2x metal checkvalves from hueyheng as they function more reliabily than plastics ones.
I am using the one below right now. The brand is Adec. I was using the "JBJ" type but could not use it now as my new OF CO2 regulator cannot fit it. Anyway, this Adec type was given to me many years ago during a house warming. I think it comes with check valve too if I am not wrong. The good thing about this bubble counter is that it contain lots of water and will not dry up that fast.

Another expensive option is CAL Double Counter.

Thanks lorba for sharing. This is very unique bubble counter, it could monitor both high and low flow rate. How much does it cost?

I am using this ANS outside the tank for visual indication of the CO2 is flowing. This is only good for indicator of CO2 flow; not for individual bubble count. At any instance, few bubbles will rush out during each interval.
Again, as tawauboy bubble counter mainly provides a visual indication that co2 is flowing. So the actual numbers of bubbles does not contribute to the concentration of the CO2 in the tank.

Looking good. Thanks for the intro especially for people who adopt many bubbles per second![]()
