Anyone uses moss as foreground plant

To all the moss lovers and experts,

I am just curious if anyone actually uses moss as foreground display to create a HC lawn effect. And what kind of moss does you use?

I have used Java moss as a foreground plant and it works. Problem is, when trimming moss, it does not float but and tangles up with the other moss, this makes trimming a pain. Also, moss will tend to grow thickly which means that waste will be collected within the moss, this makes the substrate dirty and promotes algae.
