haha got hooked to this already!!
the light looks a bit dim and small to cover the whole area... maybe can lower it somemore?
Just set up a small tank which sits on my desk this morning! This is a low tech tank. No CO2, just a Dazs 5 watt PL light, Ocean Free Mini Hang on Filter, GEX soil, Japanese Hairgrass, Nanas and Java Moss on driftwood. Temperature is a constant 22 degrees.
Inhabitants are 2 baby Moscow black Guppies, and a pair of Pelvicachromis pulcher (Rainbow Krib).
Dunno if the tank is too small for the Kribs to breed.
Very keen to see how the Jap hairgrass and Java moss will mature over time.Heres a lousy photo from my iphone. Will bring a better camera to take a phot soon.

When you lower the light, you are compromising the area that the light could cover.
if thats the case, shift your tank higher!!nearer to the PL light!!
only Moss, nanas and Jap hairgrass.... My humble opinion is that enough light leow. Heh heh... No worries...
If they are not doing well, will change the light. The ceiling FL is really very bright. This tank should flourish.
