Hi bros, I'm doing preparation work to setup a 3ft tank. Need some suggestions fron you & some pointer pls. I like moss & CRS & cardinal tetras. Can they all co-exists in 1 tank? At the monent i have my 3ft tank, Eheim2226 filter & RESUN CL280 chiller. What type of gravel I sh;d get. With or without fertilizers?

    Hi bro,
welcome to AQ. Are you going to setup a low tech or high tech planted tank? Why i say that is because moss do/do not need fertilizers nor co2 to grow but it will grow very slow without those. Cold water is good for moss since you say you are using a chiller aswell. For CRS and cardinal tetras i don't think they are good to be in the same tank. Cause tetras will go after them when lights off. So i would not recommended you to put tetras in the tank just CRS will do with some cleaning crew (eg. otocinclus).

As for gravel, any type will do like ADA, GEX or MAGIC soil that will bring down the ph of the water.

    Hope these information helps you..

Hi Bro doubleace, Thanks a lot for your advise. I may take up high tech moss tank. Still need to invest a little more. In regards to the gravel, I'm still undecisive. I'll think about it. Thanks again.

Myself - I use lapis on top of base fert. Try to have thick base as I may need to keep other kind of plants in the future. I use lapis because I get to know my water parameter better.
