hi, this is my first thread here. i just bought a "ready-made" freshwater aquarium today. they did not have a fan for the aquarium so i bought one. at night, i saw some.. er.. things flying through the water, wriggling around.

looks like mosquito larvae, since the water in the aquarium before adding the fan was quite still. should i add guppies or other fishes to eat them? or just get a net?

it is a full shrimp tank by the way. also, can i put fishes like neon tetra into a 1 1/2 feet tank with 9 shrimps? cherry, tiger, green shrimps.

Mosquito will only breed in stagnant water. Just need to make sure your tank water can generate some movement on top.

You may have overfed the fish and excess food will cause planaria to thrive in such enviroment

Planaria cute wait till they really reproduce, trust me you will be screaming in the middle of the night when you see them crawling on your tank wall. i suggest you elimate them now before it's too late

What is your set up like? tank size, CO2, fert dosing, light wattage? what plant? Turning yellow can be because adapting from emerse to submerse.

um, not very sure but tank size is about 1 1/2 feet, no CO2 pump, fertilizer the shop put.. forgot what name.. its a type of soil i think. not sure about light too, the uncle say 6-8 hrs of that light each day is enough, i dont know the intensity. the plant look like grass on land that type.
