    hi bros
need advice, what is the psi reading of a full 2 litre Co2 reading
i use to exchange my empty Co2 at a lfs at tampines ( so far already 3 times) but my reading on my meter are only 500psi x 2 times and 700psi x 1 times.
does NA do exchange if the tank are not from them.
    thank
    Regards

I'm using JBJ regulator, and so far never been lesser than 1000psi after refill, be it from Bioplast or NA.

me too using a jbj regulator purchase at na, was there just now to do an exchange ( normally i did it at one of the lfs at tampines)
came back and fix up and the reading was slightly better the reading was only 800psi.
maybe i need to send my regulator for a check up

mr chan assure me that the tank was fully fill and reading should be 1000psi.
don't know if it is my meter faulty or otherwise, will bring the regulator down for him to test it

I remember something about the PSI reading depends on the partial pressure of CO2, which is dependent on temperature. i.e. it is usually around 1000psi, but when the temperature is lower, it will be lower.

When this starts to drop, however, it means that there are no more liquid CO2 in the cylinder to support the pressure.

Gas top up is by weight, not pressure. You can weigh your cylinder before and after to check if you have been short-changed. Your case seems like your pressure gauge is either out-of-calibration or faulty.

some facts about pressurized CO2 cylinder.

below is where I read from the internet from people who are in home brew hobby.
else you can search "co2 tank full 800psi" on the internet.

Co2 is a "self regulating gas", meaning the liquid in the tank adjusts to keep the pressure equalized to around 800psi, regardless of how much liquid is in the tank. So a full tank is 800psi, and a near empty tank is 800psi.

another one from an aquarium forum.

    http://www.fishkeepingbanter.com/showthread.php?t=16361

And some other facts that CO2 cylinder users should know:

The cylinder will keep the same pressure for months, then when the liquid co2 is gone you will notice a sharp decrease in pressure. Once the pressure falls below a certain point the regulator will cease to function, dumping large amounts of co2 into the tank. This is the time to recharge the cylinder again

It depend on the temperature I guess. From what I read ranging from 800 to 1100 psi

So where you put your tank? aircon room?

both my fish tank and CO2 cylinder are in the dinning room with no air con or fan.
