Hi, I have been using wonder-gro fertilisers, both macro and micro, and root tabs for some time. I do not see any adverse effects on shrimps yet. Plant growth is good.

As Cu is present in trace amount in Wonder-Gro Micro, may I know if anyone has experienced any problem using this product in the long term, in tanks with shrimps?

Might sound biased, for I'm the source of Micro+ formula development....

I have plenty of shrimps in all of my setups and never have to buy again ever since I got my very first stock of 50 individuals years ago.

The concentration and engineering done to every trace Cu in WG Micro+ makes sure that it supplies sufficient, much needed Cu to plants while maintaining non toxic level towards invertebrates.

Thanks for your valuable information. Wanted to pm you to ask initially instead of starting a thread, but decided to hear the opinions and experience from other users also. But it would not be complete information without input from the developer of the formula himself. =)

Personally, I have been using it without any problem, so am having confidence in it. But I am just wondering if the concentration of Cu will build up over time if I neglect water changes for a while. But then again I should not neglect water changes in the 1st place....Paranoid huh....

Perhaps more feedback from fellow users would come in.

I know of no one reporting back their shrimp tank suffering any adverse effect over long term use of the fertilizer. It works well and safe in wide variety of setups and water parameters.

The shrimps just breed normally and retain their natural colours.

However it is a good idea to maintain WC routine (anyways when you do less WC, you tend to give less ferts) and use only a reasonable dose of fertilizer.
