CHeers..

Hi guys,
What would you recommend as the most effective way to use malachite green treatments for ich? Most recommendations are to add the prescribed amount daily. Should I accompany this with water changes or not?
I'm currently treating my Channa bleheri for ich using Sera Costapur which is malachite green oxalate-based. I've been using it for about 5 days already but not much effect. Any advice appreciated.
Regards,

Just to update, after 2 weeks of treatment with Sera Costapur, I managed to clean out the ich. I dosed, according to the instructions, about 20 drops per day for a 1.5' (about 20 litre vol) tank. This was combined with very small water changes. I did not do a large water change (as bro Interestor suggested, thank you very much for your help though!) because Channa are very sensitive to change in water conditions, and I did not want to stress my fish anymore than necessary.
The ich was moderately bad over the whole body. My Channa hid the whole time, was very lerthargic and did not eat. On Monday, I finally managed to get it to eat some dried shrimp. No more trace of ich on the body. I'm continuing to dose about 10 drops a day for the next few days to eradicate the free-swimming ich organisms as much as possible.
Now my fish in eating again, fins not fully extended but thankfully no trace of ich anymore. So relieved, would not want to lose one of my favorite fish.![]()
I'm using ocean free super slime, white spot n velvet away for my white spot and parasitic problems. Usually i dose it on alternate days for at least 1 week. I change water after a week and if needed continue with the treatment again. Do take note that it contains malachite green and formalin which is a lethal combination for sensitive fishes. It's very effective but do note that you'll have to dose much lesser than the stated dosage cos it's very concentrated.
