hi bros.
currently my 2ft planted aquarium is running on co2 tablets.
planning to switch to a CO2 cylinder soon, perhaps after CNY.
you guys can recommend any place that can get cheaper CO2 cylinders together with the regulators and other accessories (i dont know what is necessary)
personally i have a feeling that NA sells them cheaper than others.
DO ADVISE!
ALRIGHT MAN.
hopefully to go down one of these days.
maybe can ask them for CNY deals![]()
2nd hand?get those 2nd hand NA tank
If you want it cheap, then getting second hand sets would be your best bet.
What you need:
Aside from the cylinder, you need to have a regulator, it is advisable to get a 2-gauge regulator, 2 gauges usually means that your regulator has a step-down function, which basically reduce the pressure in your cylinder from about 1000 psi, to a more manageable 30-50 psi, the result of this is that it makes it easier for you to control the amount of co2 you feed.
Robert (Shadow) had kindly provided a picture of a typical regulator set, complete with solenoid valve and bubble counter in one of his previous post here, you can take a look at it.

NA, thats for sure. Plus great after sales service.
sorry, I mean from forumer![]()
Ya, some of us sell tanks and solenoid bought from Nature Aquarium, just monitor the sales thread on AQ.
haha but not sure to get here. later got some unreliable ones then sell those cannot top up or spoilt ones..
NA tank exchange 1 to 1, you just get the empty one and exchange it with full one. It is life time warranty.
wow! thats even more encouraging to get from them. -grins- maybe i shall stop by NA this evening to take a look around. exchange 1 to 1 as in when you have problems? or even when refilling?
I bought my wife the silver canister you see on the counter at Nature Aquarium. It's the biggest one there. It seems to be 1.6L. It will last for about 2 months running 1BPS. It helps that it looks very very cool. I would not use the regulator that comes with it as it is crap at making finite adjustments. To solve that I took it apart and kept opening and closing it till it was "seasoned".
Pay attention to what bossteck is saying, he is absolutely right.
You Need:
1.) CO2 Canister
2.) Regulator
3.) Bubble Counter
4).) Tubing
5.) L Joints (if you are the plumbing sort, Chan has affordable Dymax ones)
6.) Diffuser (Chan has the little grey ones as well, or you can use the glass ones)
7.) Check Valve (The thing that stops water from running back into your CO2 canister, different people call it different things)
My 2FT at work and my wife's planted tank run at 1BPS on 24/7. I always have some water agitation as my rule of thumb is low CO2 is more deadly than high CO2 with water agitation. You will see time and time again the same words "It's a trade off"
Good luck with your CO2 endeavours.

I bought the 5L cyliner(with full co2) at 75$. you can go to NA and check it out.
I just swapped a 10L CO2 cylinder with a 5L CO2 cylinder at NA with top up of $2x due to NA selling 10L for $10x and 5L for $12x![]()
try not to use sms language here.
regarding CO2, i realise i have a lot of algae growing, might be because of the fluctuating levels of CO2 in the tank. so do be prepared to experience fluctuating levels of CO2 and the consequences. maybe in your nano tank you might want to add an Oto and a few shrimps..
