hey, Im Derek from Canada. I found this forum threw google while looking for information about discus fish. Does anyone know how to breed them or even how to tell what is a male and what is a female? anywho I joined to share what I know about aquariums and aquarium species.

Hello DE-ROC!
We seem to be getting quite a few from Canada.

There's not much external evidence for male versus female.
Sometimes you can give a good guess from the size difference (female being smaller).
When they are in breeding season its the best time for sexing.
Check the anal tube.
Males will have a sharp and pointed tube while the females will have bigger and rounded tubes.
