Thinking of buying this to use with my chiller inlet and outlet hoses so I can disconnect easily without flooding my floor for chiller maintenance. Anyone seen it at NA or C328?

Hasn't anyone else beside Eheim thought of a product like this? This is wonderful! (Sorry for the Newbie Ecstasy... :P) Anyone knows how much a pair of these costs?

I have seen NA and Y618 selling this product. Each pair cost about $15 or more. You have to get 2 pairs, one for the inlet and the other for the outlet. Most helpful when you need to do canister/chiller maintenance when you have this.

Besides Eheim, there are alot of other brands supplying this item. You have to buy the one with the correct inner/outer hose size.

Prices are way above S$15 if I recall correctly. A recent enquiry indicated it's about S$40 for a one that fits 16/22mm hose.

I was thinking of 4 pairs, with a pair isolating each equipment.

    Filter Outlet --> coupling --> UV --> coupling --> CO2 Reactor --> coupling --> Tank

Tank --> coupling --> Filter Inlet

Benny, you know what other brands are available and where? I'm looking for one with 12/16mm dimensions.

    Thanks!

Every coupler has a smaller diameter, the more you connect, the bigger drop in flow rate !

bro, good point! but I think the drop is very slight given the difference should be quite small. Anyway, let me go and check physically later at NA.

I use the eheim taps and they are good, but you need to consider their length as they are quite long making it hard to have the equipment right next to each other.

Base on the slight change in diameter i don't think the flow rate change is significant even with 3 to 4 coupler. As it is a direct flow through, not like the UV, reactor or chiller where water enters and hold in a place.

    Hi guys,
Theres only a very slight reduction in the inner diameter, if at all. I just put in 3 pairs on my outlet, and don't see any significant dip in outflow.
I'm very happy now. Now, I can remove/replace my UV or CO2 cannister or filter without any fear of leakages or spurting water from the tank.
I bought 2 pairs from Polyart (They don't have anymore), and another 2 pairs from Rainbow.

That is NOT true. The hose size remains the same on all connection. You can refer to the Eheim website for more information or go to the shop to see the actual item for yourself.

There is a step up or step down adaptor. This will reduce the hose size from 16/22mm to 12/16mm if you need to connect other equipment with differing sizes. This item cannot use to terminate connections and has no valve.

    Cheers,

Locally, you can try to find Fluval or Hydor. Most likely you will have to order them. There will be a slight savings.

Overseas, there are even more brands available.

A special tip for those looking at creative setups. Check out the gardening section of the major florist. Brands like Hozelock, etc. have very interesting options.

You can also look for used ones.

I just threw out 3 sets for S$20 each. They were basically new set that was just tested and stored away.
