i suspect my polysperma hygrophila and water sprites and lacking some nutrients as they tend to grow to the top of the water, then bend along the water surface, never once popping above the water, the stems are also slowly weakening through times of pruning, so i wonder if there was anything to dose to cure this, although i wouldnt really call it a problem it would be a bonus to see the water sprites flower or so i heard. btw i have shrimps thats why i wanna be cautious abt dosing ferts.

Lets hear more details such as tank size, lighting, fert dosing routine, CO2, water parameter, etc.

When properly handled, most stem plants can do very well, even after dozens of times of pruning and replanting. A single stem could end up as a bunch after a while, and needs to be tossed out for trimming.

Generally, it is very safe for shrimp when you stick to specially made aquascape fertilizer.

Maybe want to drop in LFS or get some delivered to your doorstep and order some here

    tank size: 10 gallons (1.5ft)
    lighting: 24w
no fert dosing routine, no co2, no test kits so i have no idea of water parameters.
it's a kinda low tech tank, so yea.. i feed my shrimps spirulina wafers, my oto algae wafers and my h.rasboras aquadene pellet, something they can fit in their small mouths. i tried to keep my tank as a system, (waste from fauna to fert flora, co2 to o2) and stuff like that. everything is pretty much balanced, just wanna put some oomph into my plants, and i know i have to dose some ferts once in a while.
