Sorry to hear your loss.
I would not reuse the equipement and soil, they are contaminated with toxic and problem will show in a longer term when reused.
My Boss killed 4 SSS mosura and 2 crown SSS mosura blindly. He told the agency to fog the office to kill the out of control fruit flies over the CNY holidays. He forgot my poor CRS.
He did say sorry to me but my heart broke.
Just to feedback in this section that fogging will really kill your CRS even you partially cover the tank. The water will turn cloudy and the shrimps turned really white and stinks. Even you change water 90%, the sakura shrimps i placed for tank recycle still cannot make it. Only solution is to decom.
Sorry to hear your loss.

Heart pain for your loss. Your boss should do something about it... Get you a new tank set at least.
During your appraisal, try to remind your boss about it.. who knows he might felt sorry and give you a better grade i.e. more bonus, hehe..
Ummm... isn't fogging usually kerosene fumes only? Not saying they are not toxic... just if it's kerosene, then you can find something or method to remove it effectively.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
Better cross your fingers and forget your CRS issue.
Your Boss might ask you to pack up and go especially the economic is so bad. Everyone is worried about their rice bowl!
Asked for compensation?
For info, the fogging was done in an enclosed office to kill fruit flies. I don't think it's like those you see people fogging in HDB. They are really thick smoke. On top of that the tank was partially covered by a clipboard which was suggested by one of my colleagues when i was not there on Saturday morning.
On Sunday i went back, i saw all the shrimps died but no oil on the surface or on the clip board or on the tables and refrigerator. Just some burnt smell in the office. I don't think the boss would want to dirt or poison all the equipment and documents in the office.

You should suggest to your boss to keep frogs in office, it is a "green" way to curb fruitflies.

If there is ever next time, best to cover your tank completely, and off all aeration or stop all surface movements in the tank. No worries about the aeration part as shrimps are able to accomodate such happenings.
Well just head down to Tampines to replace your poor shrimps.

Its not kerosene although it smells like it.
Usually it contains Pyrethrins and other oil based compounds, nasty stuff for fish tanks. I get paranoid when fogging goes on around my area, but so far no problems, never in my house but outside.
Pretty nasty list of stuff. I found this link for one of the compounds

I encountered the same problem with the CRS in my office. All the CRS died when it was fogged. Fortunately, my CRS was grade B.
Got over the loss after some time and restarted my CRS using the same eqpt, tank and soil at home.
Agree with earlier post...during such recessive times, better think of rice bowl...forgive your boss, and take it in stride. Show some maganimity.
Empathise with you Stonepot, happened to me also. Office got cockroach fogging last year and wiped out 7 staff shrimp tanks. Some of my colleagues had very very expensive and good grades CRS. My loss was less, just low grades CRS. Nonetheless, don't think about it anymore. Think positive, think of new possibilities, you can now re-do your tank. New project...wow...
