Just wondering has anyone used Eheim Pro II 2060 on a 2ft tank?

    Is it too overkill?

    Flowrate is it too strong?

    Thanks

I'm using that. Strong flowrate's not an issue if your tanks heavily planted. The flow in mine gets attenuated by the hardscape and some plants. I find it just nice actually.

Are you referring to 2026 or 2060? I am currently using Eheim Pro II 2026 on a 2ft tank. Quite good and have not thought it as overkill. Good to have a stronger filter in my opinion. Anyway, the flowrate can be controlled. If your budget allowed, why not? Just that it is like using a big scoop to transfer water from a small pail.

Thanks for correcting me. Yes is 2026.

I'm using 2026 for 2ft tank too..seems to work fine with its huge cannister volume for additional media storage.
The role of master and servant begin to cloud in the water..

Wow really great to see so many bros here using 2026 on 2ft...

Btw. I see now for this unit it comes complete with all media and stuff.

Actually why I ask was also because I intend to upgrade to 3ft in future, as was told it does well on up to 3ft tank.

I don't think 2026 is sufficient for a 3ft planted tank. I am currently using 2028 and a fluval 304 and I feel it still can be better.

Just to clarify, I'm using a 2028 for my 2ft. Not the 2026. One additional compartment for media seemed like a good idea to me.

I see. The specs indicated that 2026 can handle up to 300lt and a 3ft tank is at most 182lt. and you say is ont enough.

Well the differents in price for the 2 filter is not alot. Any one has any views on 2028?

No problem if the 2028 flowrate is too strong....go and get a $2 flow valve to control the flow. Bigger compartment can add more media..$$$.

2026 can still handle a 3ft tank..its just nice...of cause it very much depends on your bioload and scaping.

That's a good idea. I will be most likely getting the 2028. Thanks

Well, I have used every available space in my 2ft tank for plants. Fishes I have 50 cardinals, 2SAE & 3 Otos... plus 40 shrimps. So if I were to do a 3ft tank... It will be a mini forest in it too.

    Thanks bro k3nlim

You could also use a 2026 impeller on a 2028 canister filter to achieve the flow of a 2026. I've lost the link to this info as it was quite a while back that I stumbled on it. Or was it a 2222 to a 2224 impeller?

Dear Mod, correct me if i'm wrong you are saying if I buy a 2028 and change the impeller to the 2026 version the flowrate will change from 1050 to 950?

i think a 2026 for 2ft tank is just nice but 3ft should use 2028. Don't forget, flow rate tend to decrease over time when filter gets clogged.
