Call and ask the shops that make tanks... they should know. Given that this size tanks are unusual, consider calling a few of the better ones for a good cross-section of opinions. Also ask them cost and thickness if you use tempered glass instead.
hi guys ,can help me out?
im now thinking of wat thickness for the glass of my tank...
i have a 8'x 3' x 2.5' tank in mind.
however i do not know how thick the glass should be to take the weight of the gravel ,etc...
would 15mm all round suffice?
or 15mm sides and 19mm base...
or 19mm all round?
can help me here?
cause the 19mm all round very expensive leh..
so like to ask around be4 making decisions...
btw whats teos 9ft tank glass thickness?
thanks again...

Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
anyone knows teos 9 feet tank thickness?
If I'm not wrong is about 0.5" (around 13cm). Jazzben, I hope you know what you're doing as your big big tank has to be properly done. A miscalculation won't be very forgiving when you're disigning it to hole 1400L of water plus another 300Kg of substrate.
sher.. u mean 13 mm rite...
not 13 cm...
13 cm thick is very very thick....
anyway thanks for the advice!
13mm is correct... my bad----------------

8 ft... where is that going to be place??? landed property of flat, condo???
as mention by sherwin.... 1400L of water is equal to 1.4 ton plus 300kg gravel/ substrate.... ,the weight of the tank.... the carbinet......
so easily the whole thing weights up to 2 ton []
Can the flat or condo floor take that 2 ton???[:0]
im staying terrace.
going to place it at the 2nd floor of my place.
no probs with the weight.
just like to check wats the thickness of TEOs 9 ft tank base.
thank you.
jazz, I think u better check with a engineer, I seriously doubt your 2nd storey floor can take on such a weight... but the 1st storey shouldnt be a prob
no prob.
checked it out liaoz
the engineer laughed and said tt HDB flat people stay 11th storey even got 6 ' tank and many other 2 ' tank in a room...
