Getting canisters prime without sucking in water using mout

Hi all, I'm currently using a eheim canister filter that does not have a primer. I would like to find out is there a way for me to get the filter filled up with water without the need of me using my mouth to suck in the water after i cleaned my filter? Other than buying a primer is there any other ways?
It's not too nice to get the tank water and debris in my mouth everytime i wash my canister filter.

Something not covered in that thread...

If you did not empty the filter hoses, you should not have to suck. Empty the outlet hose (only the outlet hose, the inlet hose should remain full of water), reattach the hoses and reopen the tap on the outlet hose first, then the inlet hose. It should prime by itself. This only works if your filter is empty.

Even if you did empty the hoses, you should not have to suck until the water goes into your mouth. It doesn't take much to get the filter to start priming. Form a half clenched fist so that your hand forms a "tube". Stick the inlet hose in one end and suck the other end... once water starts to flow into the filter, you can stop sucking.
