Mantain a good water circulation in a pleco tank

Hi guys
Some questions to ask,

Anyone of you using 2 canister filters on a 3ft and above tank?
How do you place the out flow?

Please advise..

Hi there

I used to have 2 canisters on a 4-ft tank. I can't recall the capacity of the canisters nor their flow rate, but my setup was something like this:

Filter 1
Inlet: surface skimmer
Outlet: rainbar (submerged just below surface, pointed 45deg down towards front

Filter 2
Inlet: normal inlet (basket type)
Outlet: co2 reactor (3 balls type)

After some time I added a rain bar to the 2nd filter outlet and reconnected the co2 reactor to a mini powerhead for consistent and fast flow of water in and out of the reactor. This improved my co2 dissolve rate because the filter media was slowing down the flow rate of my canister. With the powerhead not attached to any filtration device, the powerhead flow rate was very consistent.
