My Amazon Swords are developing holes and sought of melting away, leaving the 'skeletons' of the leaves. Any advice?
Just introduce Dennerle's E15 and Gold 7, Overall condition has improved greatly, more bubbling and less algae growth.

I had been a very passive reader of this forum cos most of my queries are already answered. Overall a great forum and I learned a lot.

Thanks to all for ur time.

Hi Dettol, first word of advice...you need to look into your CO2 problem if your pH and KH are accurate or else your plants might not make it especially riccia.

Holes in your amazon swords might speak of potassium deficiency but the lack of carbon is your major limiting nutrient now...solve that first and wait to see.

The wood arrangements can be improved. Try joining them together to make it one big wood.

regarding the holes in amazon... dose it with K and calcium? I dosing K when this holes appears, now not much Holes appearing liao. Dunno if I anyhow hum tum or not?

Regarding ur uniformly parade sq setup... so neat, u must be a very neat guy? AND... is tat a dor ba leh driftwood roots?[] AND ur overloaded Yamatos, maybe if u wanna sell away at a cheap price before they eat up ur glass, can always PM me.

Yah, think tho CO2 is a bit low too, will try to increase. Might have made an error in comparing the color chart, could be 6.5? Me just aga aga only. Will get a Co2 test kit for more accurate reading. Btw, does that mean that carbon deficiency can be improved with higher rate of injection.

Noted. Thought of getting a bigger piece in the near future.

I have been getting 3 bps (bubbles per sec) or more sometimes since I start this hobby. I only use 1 bottle. Maybe I put in more yeast, last for two weeks before dropping to 1 bps on the 3rd week. Will try to get more K into the system.
Intend to cover the front and mid sections in moss so lay the first few I have neatly. Regarding the drirf wood, I dunno if its dom ba lek but this is the best position I tried. Nice try with the yamatoes, he he.

A big thanks to all the advice given. []

Actually I prefer moss, easy to maintain and gives a good soft appearance.

I use only half a teaspoon of yeast(the brand is Bruggeman)and a pinch of baking soda. But I use more than a cup of sugar, about 1/3 to almost half of the 1.5 litre bottle. The rate of bubbling is very great on the first few days that it fills half of my reactor in an hours time and I have to release it.

Bought it at the bakery shop(Phoon Huat or something like that) at sembawang mrt station. The whole shop sells baking stuff and the yeast comes in little (11g) satchets with the words 'Instant Levure Yeast Fermanto'. Go get some and tell me the results ok.

Sounds like some exotic Italian yeasts.

How about beer yeasts or champagne yeasts? Are they available here in Singapore? Heard that they last longer.

Last time, I went to a chinese medical hall to ask for JIU BING. According to my sources, that was a type of champagne yeast primarily used to brew wine, etc.

    So, it should be available.
