initial guess could be the "O" ring.
The filter has been running fine for almost 6 years when suddenly water start appearing near the power cord outlet of the pump, filling the 4 rectangular cavities (2 on each side). Funny thing, the water did not overflow out of the cavities. After clearing the water, the cavities start to get filled up slowly with water again once I start the pump again.
Where could the fault possibly be?Man, I really don't want to get electrocuted

Everything should be made as simple as possible...but not one bit simpler.

The big O ring under the pump head? I already got it replace two days ago. Burned 30 bucks for no reason. Water still collected at the 4 lobangs at the pump head. The water doesn't leak out in between the container and the pump head. That puzzles me. Gee... I really feel like ripping the pump head apart and see what wrong.![]()

Send it to Qian Hu, the distributor for Eheim. There is another red o-ring inside the cavity that need to be replaced. I went through this phase already, same as yours. I asked to purchase this spare red o-ring but was turned down. They will open up and install this red o-ring and later do a leak test. Informed them that you already change the big o-ring otherwise they will replace it again and you will incur the extra charges.
Hope this helps!![]()
