    Folks,

Just wondering, does the number of fans affect the temperature?

As now with 2 fans, i can hit an average temperature of 26.5

Wondering if i use another fan will the temperature drop below 25?

Any bros can share the number of fans that you using and the average temperature that you manage to hit?

Yes, the increase of fans do decrease the temperature up to certain exent But expect the water level to drop even more due to evaporation.

Fan brings down the temperature by around 2 degrees.

I had tried 2 fans on my 2ft tank. But don't see much temperature drop. Thus now I am using just 1 fan for my 2ft tank.

In my opinion, providing good water circulation will help more than just using a fan. 1 fan will be sufficient for 2ft and below tank.

So that means that no matter how many fans you use, on average is about 2 degrees drop correct?

    so sad.

As you mentioned about good water circulation, can you elaborate on this?

I am using a Ehiem canister. Is that consider as a water circulation?

    Thanks

Actually this issue had been discussed before.

Fan will bring down temperature by 2 degrees. That's why there is a need for chillers, if you want constant temperature at 25C and below.

Good circulation ensure that water is circulated properly. Meaning that the tank's water is maintaining at the same temperature. And not just the top layer water is cold, due to evaporation from the top. It is just like mixing a cup of cold drink with ice. Stiring it, makes the whole cup cold faster. Leaving the ice on top and not stiring, it will take a while before the lower portion gets cold.

And what is your tank size? Bigger volume, ensures that the temperature drop is no so drastics, due to the ambient temperature. You will find bigger tanks able to maintain constant temperature compared to smaller tanks.

I have tried from 1 to 2 to 3 fan the difference is for 1 fan 27.5, 2 fan 26.3 and 3 fan 26. Tested just last week. Weather is really burning hot!

My 2ft tank is hitting 27C during the day. Hot hot

Your tank got hot lights too. Try blowing 1 fan at your lights. More effective this way.

If you can get your ambient temperature at 27degree, then with your fan on the tank and fan on the light, you most likely can get around 25-27. Deal with your ambient temperature first.
