    Hi Folks,

Need some advise on my planted glosso in my Nano101 tank with 9W PL light.

    Two things observed:
    1) More and more of the leaves are turning in color. From original green to a lighter green.
    2) Some of the leaves are starting to form "translucent" like holes and have started to melt away

What i have done so far.
    1) Weekly dosage of liquid fert
    2) one CO2 tablet once every 2 days.

Can anyone advise me what is the problem here and how i can solve it?

    Thanks
    My NANO101 tank :
    3 x badi badi, 7 x cardinal tetra
    2 x bumblebee shrimp, 3 x red nose shrimp
    2 x malayan shrimp, 2 x cherry red shrimp
    3 x sakura shrimp

Glosso is a nutrients, CO2, lighting sucker. If you cant match to it, most likely they will die.

Hi blue33. In that case, will a 9W PL light be sufficient ?

It can survive thru 9W but it will most likely grow upwards. Currently is your CO2 and nutrients problem.

    Hi Shadow.

    It's a 20cm cube tank.

You guys are right. My glosso are indeed starting to grow upwards. Does that mean i have to put in more fert and more frequent on top of my once a week dosage now ?

you have to put more light but since the light increase, you will need to increase fert and CO2 as well

The glosso you got, is it still in its emersed form? If yes, then the melting away could be just a part of its conversion to its immersed form.

Anyways, you need more than 9W for that nano tank and your glosso to creep. Likely at 9W your glosso, when in its immersed form will be rising up like a flag pole.

Most of the nano tank need at least 18W to get them to creep. Other alternatives is lower down the water and light. FYI, ADA use 27W of light for their small tank.
