Just started my planted tank 2 days back. Realised that there are white hairlike things growing on two of my leafy plants, not sure if this is normal. Wonder if these are algaes? If so, what can be done for treatment?
Tank size: 4ft.
Temp:27C.
PH: 7.0
Light 4 x 36W:6hrs (day 2)
CO2: 4bps.
Others: 1 x SAE, 5 x Yamotos.
Please advice.

white hair like...
hmmm...
are they slimy to the touch and not easily dislodged?

Simon said "those white slime stuff is cause when the CO2 solution leech into yr tank".
I am not using a DIY CO2 set. Had it set up with 1 bubble counter and then into a CO2 reactor. How then do I solve this leeching problem? Is this harmful to the plants?

cbong, if u not using DIY co2, then leeching may not be the prob.. does it look like a web/coccon of some sort?

Nope, just hair-like. About 3-4mm long, all over the leaf.
you saw my post?

have to tried removing them? if so, do they grow back? I think the best thing to always do it manually remove them

Not sure if it is slimy, can't tell. But rather easy to dislodge. Just gentle rub on the surface and its gone.

Simon, when you said remove "them", are you referring to the plants?

remove the white stuff, if possible jus by rubbing it away.. if not, remove the leaf.. but i dun think its algae
