Are these brand of chillers more reliable? Is the HC-130A model suitable to cool a 2ft or 1.5ft tank? Or should get a bigger capacity?

HC130A is suitable for 1.5-2ft tank. I'm using the HC100A for my 2ft tank...

    Hi

For reliability, it is difficult to tell. Branded like Teco and Artica are said to be more reliable.

If budget is no concern, just get Teco and Artica. If budget is a concern, Hailea, Resun are reasonable due to their value [Price/ Performance]. According to some report, china brands are noisier but less reliable as compare to european and us brands.

My Hailea served me close to 2 years and I dont face any issue. So far so good. I just redo and use a better temperature sensor and it works well.

As for 2ft, Hailea HC130 is usable. You might want to consider HC150 as a larger capacity.

    hmm budget is a concern.....
Seems like Hailea is ok ... thinking of Gex too but not sure how reliable is that

For your chiller how to redo and get a better temperature sensor?
And also HC150 will consume more electrcity then the HC 130?
Has anyone measured these consumption using a watt meter before?

    Re: Hailea Chillers

The new line of hailea have pretty good reviews, with 150a having fan direction issue. A higher capacity chiller would consume more power but the chilling capacity(ie heat removal) in terms of hp is greater. Hailea have clearly stated their power consumption. Temperature probe can be bought at sim lim tower @ $15. There are old threads on how to connect if pictures still around.

    Re: Hailea Chillers

GEX is new in terms of chiller. 1st time I saw it is at aquarama 2009.

As for temperature sensor, get 1 from sim lim tower to replace it. The new sensor will measure temperature in tank instead of chiller reservoir.

As for power consumption. Probably hc150 uses more power bug neligible. Don't get too worried about this.
