I know this isnt your tank. But just want to check, is that E. Tenellus at the back? This is exactly what i hope to achieve in my 2ft tank. On a smaller scale ofcourse

    Re: my humble iwagumi

It could be either E. Tenellus or Blyxa japonica. You need plenty of firepower to get this kinda copper colouration

they do really look like E. tenellus to me ! those given good lightings, good fertilizations would turn out blood red. mine also appear pinkish

Save the hassel of identifying the plant, and the dissapointment when i know it'll fail. I think i'll just stick to HC and rocks in my scape

Back on topic now, feel like its diverting a bit haha.

The plant is Blyxa Japonica. Under certain condition then it will appear that red. The owner pump in lots of light and he also got lots of algae at that time also before it got into this stage.

you might want to review that
in my experience e tenellus (never tried blyxa before) is way much easier to grow and maintain than HC

back to topic, wheres the tank shot???
    im waiting!

    Re: my humble iwagumi

Sorry guys~ work and family commitments have weighed me down ^_^" I can't wait to update either

Any idea what small fishes to have in this 30C?

I'm leaning towards spotted boraras. Used to have them, very delicate and beautiful fish.

    Re: my humble iwagumi

Just some specs I could provide now

    HARDWARE and DOSING:

    ADA 30C
    Eheim 2213
    CO2 range from 0~3bps (crappy regulator >.<) 24/7
    Ferka Aquatilizer 2 pumps daily
    1 pinch of KSO4 daily
    20W philips tornado twister 6500K
    8cm fan 24/7

    WATER CONDITION:

    Ambient temp 26~29
    Water temp 27~28

the rest of the water conditions I have no idea

    FAUNA:

Currently has 1 oto and 5 malayan shrimps

I would want to breed red cherry shrimps but not untill I solve my CO2 regulator problem and waiting for the flora to fill in.

    FLORA:

    Hemianthus micranthemoides
    Eleocharis sp.
    Anchor moss (scientific name?)

Thanks Ghim. Light came from the only one source, 15W philips tornado twister 6500K, which I later changed to 20W. I'm sure with flash I would be able to have better control and better quality, as those are shot in high ISO and very slow shutter speed.

    Re: my humble iwagumi

Hello guys! Apart from mia for a while, I have already torn this tank down as well...reason being not only it was too much of a high maintenance for me, but also all my time has to go into work and most of all my newborn baby boy who is 3 months old now

Give the small size of this tank, every week, I has to constantly keep the hairgrass in shape and in place and also consistently trimming the foreground moss to keep it short and bushy... but when my new found love is born... I totally neglected it for almost two months... and not only it went wild...algae also took over... lol

But nevertheless, I have already rescaped it with a simpler set up... and i have also started a 100cm tank too...

    will update soon!
    Cheers!
