fighting spiders..do you remember

I know its a silly question, lets just say I am taking a trip through time warp.
Has anyone been itched to catch fighting spiders. I used to do this when I was back in secondary school days..winning championships hahahaha..oh yes having a champion with me.

use to hunt them near bushes and keeping them in matchboxes back in the kampong days and primary school but was never had the luck to get a 'first king' .......... hahaha thanks for bringing back those memories.....

i used to catch too.. i have a crazy tactic for lazy people who not like to search from leave to leave

find those bush that has spider... get a box with big surface opening and put in at botton of bush.. grab the bush in the middle,,, SHAKE like mad...

If you are lucky,, you can catch 2 - 3,, but of because with some other insect too,,,

yea .. now the younger generation only play computer games etc..

last time during catch spider very happening.. encounter snake. .stick smash the red ant nest to tekan friend with red ant rain but ownself also dio..

hahaha.. actually now still got people catching them... but it's all the uncles like us...

In AF, there's a group of the them forming up the Fighting Spider Group... and they even held competitions a few months back, and there are prizes too! Some nice Betta from the sponsors ...

I have shown some of my friends these clips earlier, and we end up going somewhere around Tanglin Halt railway tracks and caught quite a few of them... ... Quite fun to replay this old hobby...

I still remember when I was young, my dad, ever the clown, told me that brandy would make my spider strong. He even gave me a little bit of his brandy in a teaspoon.

I happily 'fed' it to my spider. It drown.
