that's a beautiful picture! looks like there's a storm going on in the tank. haha.
I have a pair!
Picked these up for a good price. Lights are off tonight, but will post some photos tomorrow when they are settle in. They are F1.
Here is a photo taken in the LFS, he is stressed of course, and the female is behind him. He also has a torn pectoral fin, but that will heal.
Mickthefish took this photo, so thanks for that, your camera is far better than mine! haha

Please excuse the glass, as i say this is in the LFS not my house!

Advice from boss Felix
Macrostoma is still my all time favourite betta, where you buy it from?
Love all,Trust few,Do wrong to none
A fish shop i use often. These are F1s bred by Allan Brown. Live in the UK so dont think that will help much :P

Allan Brown is the breeder, also the discoverer of Betta brownorum. Quite famous in the anabantoid world.

How is your macrostoma settling in??
Love all,Trust few,Do wrong to none
Settling in quite OK.
Male has quite a lot of colouring up to do, but with time that will follow.
I was lucky enough to be able to watch the tank at the shop for a few hours, this male protected this female, and so far no fighting.

How did you set up the tank?
Love all,Trust few,Do wrong to none
They are in an 18 inch cube.
The substrate is leaf litter, mix of ketapang and oak leaves.
Filter is a simple internal filter.
The plants are a mixture of crypts i got from work. I have no idea what they are..
Will take a full tank shot soon

The current is actually subdued by a peice of sponge. I was going to use a sponge filter, but think internal filter will help with water quality....however frequent water changes can of course never be a bad thing.
I also have a larger tank on standby if need be![]()

All right, keep us update of the pair,I will post some photo if I manage to get a pair in Singapore again.
