I'm currently running a 1.5 FT tank with Eden 501 filter. Using a DIY fan and lowest temp i can achieve is 26 deg.

Can any bros recommend a good chiller that works well with my current Eden filter if i want to achieve 24 deg and below? Was considering iceprobe by coolworks but the feedback seems divided.

    Thanks in advance!

You will probably need to upgrade your filter also, or add an inline pump, I don't think the Eden 501 will be able to provide sufficient flow for any compressor based chiller to function properly.

Unless you go for the Thermoelectric type of chiller like the Dolphin ones or the lowest models of resun and hailea. But power consumption will be killer like ice probes.

A model you might want to consider is the Hailea HC-100A or HC-130A.

The 501 would be too weak to drive any decent chiller.

TEM chiller will not be effective for a tank of your size.

I used to run 501 with Dolphin TEM on a 1ft cube. The best it can achieve is 27C. Tank was placed in a well ventilated area.

If you intend to breed CRS, I would suggest you upgrade your filter to match a 1/15HP chiller.

Thanks for the advices. I guess i will hold back on the chiller till i upgrade to a 2 ft tank and above with a better filter too.

    Cheers.
