Have been searching for info on selective breeding for shrimps and found little info. How does one go about doing this in a home environment? How many tanks do I need eventually? At what point husbandry management becomes critical? In groups or one to one? Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks & Regards

IMO a nice shrimp set up would consist of 3 X 4 feet standard tank.
Each Tank partitioned into 2 parts or 3 parts.
When it comes to selective breeding ... I not that sure.
Because I mix all my CRS into one tank.
Only recently did I partition my second 4 feet tank.
Now Diamonds in one tank.....A grade CRS in the same tank but different partition.
All my S and up in one 4 feet tank.
When they spawn, separate the babies into the respective tank.

Hope you succeed and share some photos soon.

I've been quite curious about this as well. In guppies for e.g. we would sex them when they are juveniles and select the desired mature pair or trio for breeding. Not sure if the same is done with shrimp.

For RCS some people suggest separating out the more colour saturated ones to breed, the exact mechanics of which I'm not entirely sure.

It would be great if the experts can shed some light on this facinating topic

It seems to me selective breeding is still a closely guarded secret.....

bro, how does the tank divider looks like? the gap must be small enough not to let shrimplets wander around right.

You can silicon the tank divider....so that there wont be any gaps.
