Sand on top of AquaSoil

i was intending to setup a dessert scape. As such there will be a layer of sand(those used by cory) on top of the aquasoil, could be quite thick so as to prevent the cory to dig into the soil. Will this affect the plants ? If so, how to go about it ?

I would suggest to make 2 seperate section instead of sand on top aquasoil. For example the front section, uplanted, is sand and behind section where you plant your plants is aquasoil.

depend on individual, i got lapis sand over ada soil and about 1.5ins thick on some area of my tank, all my plant are growing well thick and healthy.

to be true, i haven't give up hope, will make a trip to NA to search for the right sand
