MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!! TIME TO LAY BACK AND RELAX!
A Journey Of A Thousand Miles Begins With A Single Step
You can buy those slow release food...white coloured ones...though I am not really sure that the fish does eat it or not. I have tried it once when I away for a week...dont think my fishes got any bigger....
Best is borrow a food timer or get one from LFS.
Don't think 6 days will do much harm... just go and enjoy your get-away. Just make sure you top up your tank water before you go off![]()
6 days should not be a problem if there are plants in your tank, during my kampong life in the young days i had guppies on those cement tank and only feed them when i feel like doing it, sometime not even 1 time in a month.
just my 2 cents
Great Thank You fellow forumers!!.... I think i understand liao.
1. Top up water

Best to get auto feeder if that's the case...
The role of master and servant begin to cloud in the water..
Are any of your platy's female and looking ready to give birth in the next week? The new fry would work as a feeding. That, along with some plants and a heavy feeding before you leave would take care of it.
I would just feed them as normal.
If you overfeed on purpose, then go on holiday, you are asking for water trouble when you get back.
Fish are fine for up to about 15 day, then they start showing signs of stress, but will soon recover.

Currently keeping many wild betta species and other anabantoids.
Very true. When I say feed heavily, I mean fatten them up; feed them slowly, but more than normal. Make sure they eat what's given to them. NH4 isn't good for plants or fish. If the fish eat it, they'll release it more slowly, and the biological filtration will have a chance to adapt a bit better. If you make your own ferts, you can try reducing the amount of NO3 dosed to compensate. That's just my thoughts though; your own experience with your fish and aquarium will probably serve better.
Hmm i think i get it.... thanks
