    Hi guys

Another new project in the pipeline to share

This tank has taken way too long in the setting up process as motivation is lacking somehow Anyway, decided to "charge ahead" and complete it!

Tank: Cade 45cm optiwhite glass tank
Filtration: Dennerle internal filter (that green thing)
    Lighting: Generic 4 x 1' T8 (should be 8500K) with 2 separate switches
    Cooling: Hang-on cooling fan
Substrate: Dennerle black crystal quartz (without base fertilizer)
Hardscape: Bogwood, stone, bamboo charcoal shelters and ceramic housing

I would say the most interesting feature of this tank is the fact that it is hidden inside the cabinet underneath my 2ft Marine Tank

    Re: Je師is Pleco Tank

I bought these interestingly-shaped bogwood from NA but soaking them was quite a chore actually... siphoning-out those smelly white fungus was quite yucky

After soaking the bogwood and running the Dennerle filter (which contains original sponges, ADA Bio Rio and ADA Bamboo Charcoal) for more than 3 weeks... it's time to dress things up a little bit

Pretty rough scape at the moment actually, but the idea is to have a horizontally expanding tree (which covers most of the light). The right side of the tree will be totally lush to help conceal the ugly green thing! Pleco housing and "toys" will be placed underneath the tree. That's more or less IT

Transferred a L134 over to "test water" yesterday and added more plants to help create the necessary plant mass. Will continue to perform water change to keep the tannin-stained water in control.

What do you guys think? I suspect I ought to look at adding secondary water flow with highly oxygenated water.

    Re: Je師is Pleco Tank

Pretty cool tank you have there. What are the current plecos in your mind?
Well i think that the Dennerle filter looks kind of too big inside this tank.
Well wish you the very best in keeping plecos.

    Well Bro,
If the oxygen level depends mostly on the number of plecos you will be housing in this tank. But basically, i think that to be on the safer side you should use an airpump to generate more oxygen for the plecos.

Actually I have always been keeping these 4 juv L134 inside my 4ft sump tank... been trying to find them a nice home but failed Hopefully they will enjoy this new home.

Yeah the filter is bulky and GREEN! But this is the only filter (inside my storeroom) that can function in this setup... bearing in mind that this tank is hidden inside a cabinet, I can't use a canister filter. I will talk a little bit more about ventilation at a later stage. I use a cooling fan to blow outside air into the cabinet and it is working well so far.

Bro, I think you must be the first in the whole world that is setting up a pretty expensive tank and setup inside a cabinet and out of sight!

I do not have any experience with plecos but I look forward to seeing this biotope.

Do I get an award for that? Err... biotope... you have just added a lot more pressure to this tank

Time for an update... did a major cleaning up today. Give these Sudo bamboo charcoal a try as they are not that costly. I like it as the back is sealed (can't see-through).

Here's one of four L134 inside this tank.

Hi bro, where you get the Sudo Bamboo Charcoal?
Remember to take out and wash it once a while as charcoal may inherit toxins from some bros experience. Correct me if I am wrong.
Really nice setup. Adding more pleco for breeding?

Bought it online. I don't intend to use it for too long... at $2.80 each. I plan to replace them every 3 months.

Breeding? So far I have only manage to breed Guppy and Sakura

Performed a 30% water change today.

    The water is stained yellow

Time to clean the filter by cleaning 1 of the 2 sponge compartments.

Wash the filthy sponge using tank water... it's seriously filthy

The pleco on the right is so hilarious trying to squeeze into my shrimp housing

Added some US Fissiden to fill up the shaded area

    Re: Je師is Pleco Tank

My pleco's cram themselves into the smallest spaces with only the tip of their back fins showing. I panic thinking they've got themselves stuck and then they just wriggle out. Pleco's are such fun

Stunning tank. Jervis, this might sound daft. But how do you tie your Anubias down. Every time i try i either do it to loose and it drifts free, or is knocked free by a fish. Or i tie it to tight and the rhyzome rots and thus the plant dies. I've resorted to pins placed either side of the rhyzome to gently trap it to the wood haha.
