Looking better than ever Jervis![]()
I agree with ranmasatome. Some bolbitis branches make it untidy a bit. Here's the picture where I marked what distracts me.
One more question. Is that LED light you use somehow special by colour of LEDs or strength of output?

I have not really arrange the Bolbitis yet... will do a final adjustment in 2 weeks time.
Thanks! Where's your entry
Thanks so much for the effort in highlighting to me the untidy areas... will pay extra attention to them when it comes to the final stages. The LEDs I'm using is not particularly special, just white I suppose. It consumes approx. 7.5W and is 3 LED tubes is equivalent to 2 T5 tubes (with good reflectors) in my opinion.
On the other hand, I prefer the bolbits being the way it is. It makes the riccia on the wood stand out better, and it helps the "wild" look.
issit normal for riccia to become loose and floats to the surface and create a mess?
yes. especially if you had shrimps
Thanks bro... I will remember this when I do my final touch up... yes I shouldn't be too obsessed over tiny details as I aim to achieve a lush and wild feeling.
Yes Riccia will float all over the place... definitely a high maintenance plant that requires constant attention.
Yamato especially![]()
Just an update... with less than 1 week to go
Added a small school of Serpae Tetra to "spice" things up as the tank is getting very green. Removed the red stem plant as it doesn't go well with the overall concept.
Will try to take some pix soon.
Nice scapebtw i have riccia that never go floating even the tinny of it still go to the bottom of tank. This riccia have green colour, at oliver knott website this call riccia dwarf .... Unlees you really want yellow effect better use this riccia because low maintenance

Keeping the sandbed clean is still a challenge... but on the other hand it irritates me so much I have to siphon them out every other day... in effect forcing me to perform 10% water change just to keep the sandbed clean
The effect of Glossostigma spreading across the Taiwan moss is rather interesting... giving a dense feeling.

With only a few days left... it's time to test out the equipments and lighting. Here's how lighting can dramatically change the look and feel of a scape.
Effect #1 Main tank light only
Effect #2 Main tank light with background lighting
Effect #3 *Reduced main tank light with background lighting
Effect #4 Background lighting only
It's interesting to see how the camera react differently... will spend the remaining few days to experiment further.
Your tank is looking really good. Plants look lush and green.
Good luck bro!
The riccia seems to be dislodge piece by piece from the wood.![]()

Typical issue with riccia![]()
They do grow into lumps which I find rather interesting. No, the Riccia inside my tank are not dislodging as I have prior experience handling them. Excessive tying plays an important role here. Of course, periodic upkeep by picking out the stray growths is part of the maintenance.
This is definitely a high maintenance plant... not for the faint-hearted![]()
hey jervissssssssssssss...long time no see/hear! haha
put 100s of trigonostigma espei la!!! sure stunning!![]()
