    Re: Temperature

Before we can answer whether your tank temperature is too high, may I ask what are the inhabitants?

    Re: Temperature

LOL please get a new one.
a normal S$2 one should work just fine.
29C is very normal for our tank water without a fan.

From experience, conventional thermometers are more reliable.

    Re: Temperature

That temperature's pretty high for most fish and plants to thrive in. Getting a fan or chiller to lower the temp a few degrees shouldn't hurt, though I agree we should know your current stock before giving solid advice.

    Re: Temperature

Chiller is out of the question don't intend to invest so much .. cheap plants cheap fish ( guppies and neons , nana and soon some hair grass when i get back from Shanghai ,,) .. hahah LOL trial and error .. but as advised from some bros here, think i will invest in a fan though ..

    Re: Temperature

I got myself a brandless S$2 mercury thermometer and my low light open-top 1.5ft tank reads highest 28C. goes down to 26C at night and on cool days....you guys think this reading is correct? Tank is located right under a corridor window, surface water movement from pump...

tupiddog: neons should be fine at that temparature.

first you should make sure your thermometer is correct most thermometers are inaccurate. Also the setings on your heaters are 99% sure your temp wont match

    Re: Temperature

    install a fan bro

it will help to bring down 1-2 degree.

will be good if you keep moss.
