Awesome! Can post a FTS?
Awesome! Can post a FTS?
Just took the water parameter measurements:
NH3 + NH4 - <0.25mg/L (using salifert)
NO2 - <0.3mg/L (using Tetratest)
NO3 - 12.5mg/L (using Tetratest)
KH - 15.4 dKH (using salifert)
Are the above values good for the plants and fishes?

dominic, if your plant are growing well then the water paramters does not matters. Can see that the Aro and angels are doing well under your care, keep it up and keep us posted as it matures.![]()

bro, what you feed your aro with ? Recently setup aro planted too.
dry food like hikari food sticks and freeze dried shrimps
Did some rescape
Arowana posing

Your tank's looking better everytime. Love the idea of keeping monster fish in planted tanks.![]()

Don't know whether to LOVE or HATE you for inspiring us! haha![]()
You managed to have the best of both world!! The arowana looks really comfortable and relaxed in this setting.
Hope to see more updates on your wonderful tank setup.
The role of master and servant begin to cloud in the water..

Really nice...think you did well in the re-scaping...love it
your aro looks abit skinny... maybe can feed market prawns to pump it up?
nice rim development though.

good effort!
But are the fishes going to be moved to another tank for rescapping after a few years when the ferts looses its nutrients?
They will be very big by that time...

Personally, I think it looks fine. Lean and trim. I feel some arowana owners overfeed their fishes. And there is a theory that droop eye is caused by fat accumulating behind the eye. Some Japanese guy dissected an arowana with droop eye and discovered fat deposits behind the eye.
Re-scaping big tanks are a logistically nightmare... you need just as big a container to hold the fish while you re-scape which could be a day or more. You have to keep the filter viable during that time (run it on the holding tank). Then you need to wait at least two weeks for the new tank to cycle (even with the old filter. Plus you still need to filter the holding tank during that time). Can't take chances with such big and expensive fishes.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Hi folks
I'm in the midst of doing 6ft paludarium , now seen this arowana planted tank...i drooling so much saliva and its dripping crazy!
I must say this is CRAZY! I thought of scrap this paludarium at first, but because of this, I'm gonna be a insane man and thought of getting another 8ft tank to keep this amazing arowana next year. Do you know what my wife say....why dont you keep this stupid 8ft tank in IMH when you are a patient there!!!!
