No need to dirty my hands to cut them up. They themselves can split into many of their own kind if given "good treat".
Thats really alot! What kind of "treats" do u mean?
That is the problem with shrimp only tank...

wow, how did you manage to 'harvest' them this way?!
wah!! all this from your shrimp tank? how big is your tank?
they look fat and juicy
Can use them to feed fish?
there's a sticky here, did you harvest them this way?

one word...YUCK
wa so many
can be supplier for lfs?
I harvest them from 3 tanks of ranging 2ft-3ft. One big surface area food like algae wafer was introduced into the tank. After few minutes, use a good net to "harvest" them as they surround the food. Every week ill do so 2-3times.
Better not, usually they are disposed by introducing salt which will able to suck them dry. They will become very slimy and die off.
How i wish i can.
A half spoon of salt and there they goes. "A mi tou fu"
Oh salt works wonder... does salt work for hydras too?
To a certain extend when comes to salt against hydra, I have tried many dosage of salt in tank but only able to have those big hydras shrink-not able to kill it off completely.
Hydras to me in shrimp tank is not much of a problem, they are present because of the excess nutrients in tank. Usually in a 2wks to 2months tank, you ill able to see loads of tank sticking themselves to everywhere in the tank. Yes you can probably kill them off by chemicals, but these chemicals might prove deadly to shrimps. So what I suggest is just leave them alone and perform weekly changes. After some time, this pest problem will go off themselves, leaving your self to deal mainly with the planaria problem.
I've been manually removing hydras.. and I find them more harmful than planaria as I've read that they sometimes tend to prey on small shrimplets. Didn't know that they were present due to excess nutrients in the tank, thanks for that info. The planaria population in my tank seems to have dwindled after I reduced feeding to once in two days.. but the hydras in my tanks seem to have increased!!
Spid ~Thank you very much for the information!
It's gross. I just bought vermex last night, and it did work in killing the planaria, however it also killed my shrimplets. Sigh.
Does it mean that even after I rid them, after a while they will still be back??
Also, is there any way to rid those thread worm? and hoppers?
