Hi guys, thinking of using willow/xmas moss as the foreground, or rather, or the whole tank. Do I need to lay some base fertliser to grow moss, or just gravel will do?

You can try adding liquid fertilizer instead

Foo... oi, don't like that leh... confuse ppl, how?

Joe, moss do not have roots... so they can't get to base fert. They will take fert from the water. However, Moss can survive with very low fert levels.

Technically, you don't even need gravel, accept for the moss to anchor to (unless you are tying them to wood/rocks) and for aesthetic reasons.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

thanks vinx that's what i suspect too ... see the moss no roots i assume they must be taking in from the water column ... starting a small tank for breeding cherry shrimps ... will report back if successful [:]
