Siblings!!!

My favourite is ap. sp mamore red (I forgot what the new name is). My first "not so common" apisto, from apistoworldhk.
And my other favourite is ap diplotaenia.
I used to really like caca "orange flash", but theres just too much inbreeding going on. Deformaties like strange looking heads and lateral lines make me turn away from this captive strain.

My super favourite is T. Candidi even though it's not in the genus Apisto.
Congrats marle. Do ther parents chase away the earlier batch or leave them alone?
Thanks guys, the mother doesn't seem too affected by the later batch. They let them mix together. Its probably due to the later batch not being too old.

I can always help to relieve you some headache if you like.
Now my lone adult ap.elizabaethe is giving me headache, refusing to eat anything for weeks. Very timid, always hiding. Think sooner or later going to meet his wife...
Feeding tubiflex to elizabaethe, fries or adult proved fatal. Now only left 5 juveniles, suspected the adult female also died becos of tubiflex.
Did you clean out the tubifex before feeding? Like soak and rinse them in clean water several times before feeding? If not, they probably died from some parasites that comes with or within the tubifex worms. I thought you would have already learned that feeding live tubifex is shun by many apisto keepers?

Well, my really careless mistake. I don't usually feed tubi to apisto, only frozen blood worm nowadays. Even frozen blood worm, only once or twice per week and this elizabaethe don't take FBW. The male eliza was seriously intimidated by the female ( during spawning) and refused to eat the usual stuff ( bbs, brine shrimp, pellets). So, i got the tubiflex to test it out. Did wash it quite a few times. Didn't expect so vulnerable to tubi.
Anyway, this morning the male apisto also up the lorry ( surprisingly i am happy it has ended its suffering ). R.I.P.
is it okay to feed them FBW daily?

I do not think its a problem since those by hikari have been cleanse and processed before packing. But if you are still worried, don't take the risk then. Feed them brine shrimps.

Have to really wash cleanly before feeding tubi to your fishes.. Ask your local lfs whether the tubi is it fresh or not first before buying.
I prefer to get live brine shrimps safer then go through so much trouble.
Even though they are more expensive.
