I got some Horned nerite snails aka Bumblebee snails recently to clean algae in my shrimp tanks. However I noticed that some parts of their shell are turning white and seems to be "eaten away"? May I know if this can be cured and is it dangerous for my shrimps as well?

may be the PH in your tank is too low. you may want to change to ramshorn snail.

    Perhaps do a pH check.
Mine's the opposite. When i bought the snail, there was a little white patch on the shell, but now i don't see it anymore.

    CRS like acidic water.
However, the acidic water corrodes the shell of your snail.

Yup I agree. Bumblebee Horned Snail does best in hard water. Their shells thin out in acidic water. Ramshorn Snail is a better option for CRS tank
