    Hi,

Sharing photo of my few months old community tank

Some "features" of the small 1 feet tank..
    - tried to give it a more natural look by "hiding" all unnatural equipments (eg. placed filter, CO2 diffuser, air stone etc. at the back of the tank behind plants)
    - Small cave of the right built by stacking rocks for fishes to hide, especially for the Apistogramma.
    - Quite heavily planted to give the fishes and shrimps more hiding place.
    - Layering of plants to give it more depth although it is just a small 1 feet tank.
    - mixture of green and red plants.

Comments / suggestions please on how to improve it!

    Thanks!

Looks pretty impressive and natural for a small tank

Thanks! Thinking of having some "grass like" plants to cover the bare soil.

Anyone has any recommendations on what plants will be suitable?

Used to have HC, but find that they "attract" hair algaes :P

I kind of like the bare soil on the right if that's what you're referring to, and would add moss to the rocks instead. If you mean on the left, dwarf hairgrass might look nice and is pretty easy to keep.
Nice placement of the riccia by the way, it looks really good staggered. You could probably get away with just adding another clump of that on the soil to the left, below the bunch at the front to continue the effect with the driftwood serving as a break between the two levels.
