By the way, I'm trying out liquifry and algae pellets and it seemed to do well as a food source for the big guy and his wife

Wood shrimp aren't very good janitors..they filter feed
If they constantly have to pick up food from the substrate its not very good for them.

Very peaceful shrimp though and a lot of fun to watch though, I have 3 in my tank.

    Filter feeding is still cleaning
Actually I'm also aware of that even before buying these guy, so I also got liquifry, algae pellets and freeze dried daphnia to see what works.

So far, the most obviously working are the algae pellets...they still have to "pick it up" but it seemed to be the main part of the diet.
The other 2, I can't tell how much actually got filtered but the female shrimp (which I got much earlier) is still alive and active after 3 months

I've read that yamato shrimp babies can be used to feed wood shrimps...but not keen to get yamato

How are you feeding your 3?

My 2... 1 just died after moulting today, bleh.

Fairly large tank, with lots of plants in it, they are eating mainly fish food, or shrimp pellets if they decide to pick it up.

Feeding my fish Sera baby, flake and bits, mixture of the three.

Would they survive in a 27-29C fanned 2' tank? I've gotten mixed comments as to how hardy they are!

    Thanks!

They are as hardy as normal shrimps. Nothing special about their conditions. They can also be kept at room temperature and normal pH and kH
