Imho, the rocks are not big enough. You need to get bigger rocks to ensure that they stand out powerfully with the plants playing a supporting role.
Same mistake I made with my Iwagumi..
Mizuworld's vivipara is fantastic, as with all their plants.

Ooo! Very nice!
Once the E. Tennellus starts to branch out it'd be great!
You want to add 2 more rocks to the left center front to build more depth?
Studying the water chemistry and nutrients is a science.
Knowing what plants to get and how to use them is an art.
Aquascaping is a marriage of art and science, the logical and emotional.

thanks for the suggestion.
i didn't add more to the front of the scape as i feel it will cause it to be more complicated.![]()

Hi thread starter,
I have a question hope you don't mind.
After two years looking at the same scape I finally decided to re-scape my 2ft tank in to Iwagumi setup. I planned to plant HC, I failed the first time and decided to try again, but I am having a hard time deciding what to plant in the background. I see that your Eleocharis vivipara is nice in this setup, but I read from PlantGeek.net that this plant propagate by runners. If I choose to use this plant in my background, will there be a time where this plant will propagate to the foreground and mix with my HC?
I have hairgrass on my old setup, they run like crazy, covering up everything in my tank, so I am a bit reserve to use a runner on my new setup, they might ended up covering my HC.
Sorry for asking this in your thread.

no E.vivipara does not sent runner.
